327/366: thanks
by Georgia
Our Great Stuff / Awful Stuff chart still holds true and, for that, we are thankful.
We are thankful for a dog who puts up with this nonsense every morning before 7:00AM.

We are thankful for cornbread casserole muffins (and dads who make them).

We are thankful for this little girl, trekking through the forest, dressed like a miniature, stripe-addicted, protestant nun.

We are thankful for favorite uncles.

We are thankful for trampolines.

We are thankful for these guys.

I am thankful that Stella and Elsa have each other through thick and thin.. I love to see their friendship..
Makes me feel like whistling a happy tune. Elsa rocks stripy protestant!! Our chart would be so different, no security, Ville’s job (human rights in a country none too keen, though as he trains the police and judges and prosecutors there is some light) keeps us watched and nervous, grandparents thousands of miles away, this is our first month in three years that we have healthcare insurance and it is (literally) making it easier to sleep. But for today the kids have no more than colds and we have survived what I hope will be the worst and I feel so thankful that Elsa has all that she needs and wish it were true for more people in this heaving city. Lots of love to you truly wonderful people.
Sometimes I’m almost embarrassed to share our good fortune – but I try to remember that good fortune only exists to be wallowed in and appreciated for as longs as it lasts. It feels almost sacrilege not to wave it about and say “Yes! We feel so lucky!” I also feel so thankful that Elsa has all that she needs – I see her now and it’s hard to imagine the fear and sadness of this time last year. Thank goodness.
I am thankful for your willingness to share your experiences here!
Thanks Allissa – the sharing is therapeutic for me as much as anything
